CML Group, which manufactures Nordic Track fitness equipment and owns garden products catalog Smith & Hawken, is out of the catalog business. On Feb. 17, the Acton, MA-based company was granted permission by a bankruptcy judge to sell the $88 million cataloger/retailer of garden-related tools and gifts, to CML's secured creditors for $53 million. The deal is expected to close by the end of February. CML filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December after it sold its NordicTrack division to Icon Heath & Fitness, a manufacturer/cataloger of fitness equipment, for $12 million in late November. In 1996, the company sold its Britches of Georgetowne apparel retail chain and its Nature Company catalog and stores.
