Phone.com IPO Price Range Raised

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The price range for the initial public offering of Phone.com, formerly known as Unwired Planet Inc.,
has been raised to $14-$15 from $10-$12, in a sign of strong demand, lead underwriter Credit Suisse First Boston said
Thursday.

The Redwood City, Calif.-based company provides software for delivery of Internet services over wireless phones. Among its
competitors are Qualcomm Inc. (Nasdaq:QCOM - news) and Spyglass and wireless equipment makers Ericsson and Nokia.

AT&T Wireless Services and Bell Atlantic Wireless are stockholders of the company.

Companies providing technology related to the Internet or using the Internet are often faring a bit better than non-Internet companies on debut in the current uncertain market. The fear of higher interest rates has created a cloud of concern over the market.
