Thanks for the clarification on the FRO/SUN thing. I wasn't trying to pick a fight; your original sentence just seemed to lex two different ways.

My point on "FRO != 'most advanced'" is that we're in the second mile of a marathon race and at this stage relative position is inconclusive and fleeting... and "advanced" is a very squishy word. Is "advanced" a code word for 'photonic' or 'DWDM'? WCG's emerging network seems quite advanced. GTE's too. GSTX is doing great things on the West coast.

What FRO has QWST can have also. The reverse is not as likely. It's easier for QWST to migrate toward all-optical than it is for FRO to build a new fiber plant w/ 40X more capacity than their current fiber.
