Clinton has done a pretty good job as President, but he has some character flaws."

Yes, I see your point! Clinton's partial-birth massacres don't bother you! His in-the-face finger pointing and feigned-indignity type lies don't. Neither does his White House for sale fund raising, nor his pants half-down administrative style! These are only shades of moral gray! But in Yugoslavia your moral thermometer suddenly becomes more sensitive, and registers only black and white.
Have you ever considered enlightening your comments with some biblical insights and historical realities?

Victory? What victory?

The Clinton bombing has created a MASSIVE humanitarian disaster. Almost a million refugees. Kosovo devastated. Do you really think all those refugees are going to go back to their bombed and burnt out homes? What is it going to cost and who is it going to cost to resettle all those folks? The bombing gave Milosevic the cover he needed to cleanse the Kosovo region of all Albanians and to confuse the responsibility for the deaths and suffering which have taken place.

The cost of this war will be stupendous. The "peace" is likely to be more costly than the war as our presence will be required for years. Take a look a Bosnia.

Relations with Russia have been trashed over this war. NATO was expanded to keep the Russians out of eastern Europe. They openly defied our position, supported the Serbs with arms and oil and have now a perfect excuse to reassert their influence in the region.

NATO's reputation is trashed. NATO intervened in a civil war in a sovereign country in violation of the UN Charter and Nuremberg protocols.

The Constitution was trashed. Clinton entered our armed forces into a war without Congressional authorization.

Poor relations with the Chinese have been further exacerbated by the inexcusable bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. This bombing gives the Chinese government an easy excuse to whip up anti-American sentiment and suppress democratic elements in that country.

This is no victory. Milosevic has accomplsihed his purpose and wporse yet, he remains in power. He's laughing all the way to the "peace" negotiations. Only this incredibly factually challenged President could call this mess a victory. JLA
