Production Of Sudanese Petroleum Will Boost National Currency

Khartoum, June 13 (SUNA)-- The Minister of Finance and National Economy, Dr. Abdul-Wahab Osman, stressed that production of the Sudanese petroleum will boost the national currency, affirming that the oil production process must be carried out on the basis of studied plans so there would not be any impact on the other economic sectors.

Interviewed by the Sudan News Agency SUNA on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the National Salvation Revolution, the minister of finance explained that revenues of the Sudanese petroleum must be met by a surplus in the budget to absorb surplus liquidity and then channel it into investement so that it won't have an inflationary effect.

As for the privatisation policy, the minister said it is a complementary step to the policy of liberalization, adding that it enables the private sector to be a pioneer in the country's development process.
