The biggest networking noise came from Novell
NetWare 5. Some recent NetWare versions lost market
share to Windows NT, but NetWare 5 has a legitimate
chance to reverse that trend. It runs natively over
TCP/IP and has improved network directory services--a
feature that NT won't support until Windows 2000.

<<Novell's perfect partner would be a telecom player (Lucent, Nortel, Cisco). This is were their software would really SHINE. IMHO, Lucent+Novell would be a combination that would turn the world inside out. Their combined knowledge of networking would be unmatched. Infusing NDS into Lucent's products (as they are doing NOW) would be a tremendous coup for Novell. Watch this....>>

Novell's John Young is on the Board Of Directors at Lucent.

ZDNET has just published an article questioning Novell's ability to compete. The article is causing concern to some. (see the 6/11 article and the Yahoo board on subject.
