The Nation, good source and an outstanding article (Yes it IS a MUST read<g>)...I used to be a subscriber some time ago...Here is the latest bill presented for payment...

ATHENS, June 10 (AFP) - EU member Greece will ask the European
Union for compensation after the conflict in Yugoslavia caused the
Greek economy damages totalling 100 billion drachmas (307 million
euros, 310 million dollars), Greek Economics and Finance Minister
Yannos Papantoniou said Thursday.
Speaking in an interview on a Greek private radio station,
Papantoniou said the losses amounted to 0.2 percent of his country's
gross domestic product.
The government of Prime Minister Costas Simitis, a socialist,
has said it expects the economy to grow by 3.5 percent this year but
the figure given by Papantoniou would weigh on the growth rate.
Jane's Defense Weekly reported in Tuesday's issue that the war
in Yugoslavia cost NATO at least 67 million dollars (64 million
euros) per day, an expense far greater than what NATO has maintained
it costs.
The new president of the EU Commission, Romano Prodi, said on
Friday that the cost of reconstruction following the war in Kosovo
might amount to 30 billion euros (30.6 billion dollars) over five
years.

Gee, JBL, you can get The Nation 18 days in advance ?

Could you just read up what happened to our stock
brokerage just after the first troops pulled in, and tell
us, so we can have some windfall profits? <:-))

But, an excellent article, I will come back to it later.
