The next few years will definitely be exciting. Someone described the sum of changes facing the industry in the next few years as the most radical change since the IC. That's good for me--lots of stuff to write about--but perhaps not so great for the people who have to make everything work together. As someone pointed out in a private message, many PSMs are also multilayer masks (at least two, plus possibly one more for the alignment marks) while conventional masks have only one layer. Each layer requires a write/develop/etch cycle. Each cycle increases time, increases costs, and decreases yield. Katherine
