Tango --

I'm looking for plays that benefit from LMDS deployment and haven't found anything exciting, other than NN, and that's not a pure play. In lieu of excitement, I've taken a position in ANDW.

In the fiber optics space, I'm looking at ETEK as I've heard it could be a take-out candidate. I don't do rumors, so won't take a position if I'm not comfortable holding long term. I've also heard they're having some problems meeting orders (not sure if parts or mfg), so won't jump in without more due diligence. Great space --- fiber optics DWDM components. If you can get IPOs, put Tellium on your watch list as I believe it'll be spun off of SAIC some time in the next 12 mos. or so. They have an all-optical switch -- or claim to.

I got out of TXN too early. I had a double and thought it wouldn't go higher. :(

Incidentally, NN's a great play on core ATM/IP but also on access solutions. Their DMDS offering --- including IP multicast without needing routers --- is getting a lot of attention from telcos. Now carriers can offer customers an ADSL solution capable of full broadcast TV. In other words, they won't need their old cable service, leveling the competition between RBOCS and cable operators.

What are you looking at?

Good to hear from you!
