I don't care how experienced, connected or capable a person is on this thread if their professional and public conclusions, assumptions and predictions turn out (overwhelmingly) to be false, wrong or misleading. Lots of smart people thought OS/2 would rule the world. That MSFT could never top Netscape on the browser front, etc, etc, etc. We are investing here which is a combination bet on the present and the future, often relying on some information from the past. TM has helped very little in allowing investors in this space to get a clear and correct picture of the VOD competitive landscape and/or the behind the scenes developments. In fact (unless you have not read his posts), he likely has pushed many a CCUR shareholder to sell stock between $3 and $4. His posts are uniformly negative and attack CCUR with rarely a word of negativity for thier competitors, all of whom have appeared and continue to appear to be trailing them at every stage.

Thank you for your contribution to his defense. I never doubted he was in this industry, I simply have doubted his intentions, access to good information on the technology of competitors and the value of his predictions. As my super long post (which is basicly reprints of his past posts) shows, his predictions, assumptions and technical understanding regarding the cable industry, VOD competitors and CCUR specificly have been way off base. That means he fed the board a lot of BS that turned out bad. In fact, the only thing I would even remotely give him credit for is harping on the over 6 month delay (something I have admited my error on several times in my posts on this board). Mr. Rent is unappolgetic for his past blunders and gafs. He has helped others lose money with his "know it all" ego and his attitude that boasts he will save us all from our stupidity.

The long timers here that have posted valuable information on the industry and Concurrent fundamentals are the ones who have made this board valuable to the shareholders that have held the course. Today is payday as most of us are double or triple our money in a stock that we felt was a conservative bet. We bought VOD for free at a time when the words Concurrent Computer and Video on Demand had never appeared in the same paragraph anywhere except the company's annual report. It is sweet to be here. So I say, who cares about TM or his abilities. He has not added value nor made (or saved) anyone here any money. From a long time fundamental information standpoint people like Ken, Port Steve Allen, Randy, and many others (no kudos for the traders because that's not my bag baby) have informed the board with correct informaton and predictions that have come to pass. That is what SI is all about. TM is all about something else. I think he should find a new stock. He never posts on the SEAC board. Maybe he can go enlighten them for a while.

Granby - Interesting post.

Question of fact. Assuming that you are correct that a CCUR system in a large city might require twice the storage capacity of a competitor's system, how much does that add to the total cost? My point is that if storage is a minor cost this is much less significant than if storage is a major part of the total package. Even if it is a significant cost, if the CCUR server cost is lower and that is a major cost then that may be offsetting. In other words you can't just look at one part of the picture.

Can you help me understand this better?

My dear granby, I'm sure tm can't pay is an engineer. In fact, I think I met him years ago when I used to take the shuttle from times square to grand central. I am also sure he is not a stock picker. He told everyone here to get out of ccur at various levels significantly below the current price (aren't they all!). With all of his sophisticated knowledge, he has been WRONG! He also appears to have an ulterior motive, one which is clear to those of us who understand the timing of his mysterious appearances and disappearances. Why, as mr. allen asks, would he really own this stock if he knows the server has no chance of selling?

In short, he is a lightweight investor with a heavy weight (i.e., fat) head. You do yourself no service defending him, as it makes you look silly too.
