The first ammendment only protects you from actions by the government. Which means you can say anything you want about the government without fear of persecution.(hence the cigar/clinton jokes) As for being able to say whatever you want about an individual or a private corp. 1st ammendment isn't a shield. Course, you can say whatever you want to me, because I have tough skin. It's my 400 lb brother Gus, you have to worry about. What I hate is the sarcastic comments people just have to make (ok secretly I like them) Some people are so narrow-minded that if they fell face forward on a pin, they'd be blinded in both eyes.
