Sterling Commerce Announces New VECTOR Web Support Service for Financial Institutions New Service Provides 24-hour Support to Registered Customers DALLAS, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Commerce, Inc. The service provides 24-hour support to registered customers via a secured Web site. Registered customers enter a user ID and password to log-on the secure site. They can only access documentation and updates for the products licensed to their financial institution. The Web site has a virus protection device installed to prevent exchange of corrupted files. With VECTOR Web Support, customers can open an incident report to log an issue, ask a question or submit a suggestion to the Sterling Commerce technical support staff. They also have the ability to send files relating to the incident for review by a Sterling Commerce technician. The history and status of the incident is accessible on-line until it is resolved. The Web site also has a knowledge-based search feature. Customers can enter parameters to search for information regarding a particular topic or product. They can then download and install new product updates or documentation changes at their convenience. Customers no longer have to wait for the information to be shipped on a disk or CD -- it is all available on-line.
