I don't feel the company is in danger of collapse anytime soon. It was only a few short months ago that they spurned Macromedia's offer to abandon the QuickTime format, which presumably had some nice cash or other incentives attached.

I was however extremely disappointed that this one small private placement is all that came out of the national tour and Apples strong push of the company. I wonder if these layoffs are in preparation for a sale. I was told that THW had been working on a very tight budget already and that there were not too many employees to begin with. A 40% reduction may mean between 4 and 8 people. How much could they have been paying them to have this significantly effect cash flow. The flip side of course is how weak is cash flow that firing a few people makes a significant difference.

The price of the placement is very high on a per share cost, and there was also a recent purchase of 5k or 10k shares at 70 cents that was very odd given recent price movements. Does anyone know the story behind that purchase?
