There's more than just StarMedia competiting with Quepasa.com, like Universo Online. .StarMedia is just the one "Latin American" portal that has received lots of publicity in the US. And remember, AOL and Yahoo both have big plays in the region, which, when they roll out full speed could threaten the regional focused portals. There's a good article in this month's biz2.0 - again, its mostly on StarMedia, but it also talks about local and regional portals that could round up more loyalty to their respective communities.
