Someone in the Yahoo thread mentioned of a buy-out @ $43, at this point I'll take. This company with such great products has been an
investors nightmare.

Samsung Electronics develops chipsets for DVD
koreaherald.co.kr

Samsung Electronics Co. has developed three kinds of chipsets - RF amplifier,
digital servo and data processor - for digital versatile discs (DVDs), the company
announced yesterday.

Samsung has already started mass production of the chipsets, which it will first
adopt for its own DVD-related products before exporting to the Chinese and
American markets in the second half of the year.

It expects global demand for its chipsets to reach 1.2 million units annually.

The company also said domestic production of DVD chipsets will take the
place of imports worth $150 million by 2002.

The global DVD chipset market is forecast to grow 80 percent annually to
reach $200 million by 2002.
