I suspect your belief re: rates, might be correct. -ng- Doesn't matter though, the bond market will straighten things out if they don't.

Vi, it's been a pretty reliable indicator. Also, if the bond does not turn positive in the next couple of hours look for another coupon pass. They have done that several times recently too. It would be interesting to know what the bond traders think of this - it does seem inherently contradictory to any sort of "tightening bias". Did you notice yesterday that fannie mae (I think) mortgage purchases were running at a 50% increase - just another way to juice the money supply.
