Just heard the russians proposed to control "parts of Kosovo by themselves". Is this Berlin all over again or what? They failed miserably on that one and made a damm mess of it. Why try the same thing again when they are too broke to support their own citizens in the first place?

<< Didn't you feel a little bit used by the kind of KLA described in #11496 when you stated this? >>

Our conversation reminds me of Goldwater's "Extremism for the sake of liberty is no vice", or something like that.

The Kosovo Albanians were being threatened with ethnic cleansing. Their rights were being taken away. The KLA was born out of the failure to protect the Kosovo Albanian families, from the Serbs, thru peaceful means.

So what does a KLA member do to raise funds for the good fight against Serb tyranny? Do they sell girlscout cookies? Kosovo Albanian jobs had been taken away, so there would be little source of funds for weapons.

The KLA will be recognized as heroes to the Kosovars for many decades. There should be a parade, for the KLA, in downtown Pristina. They are heroes. They held back the much larger Serb forces with small arms, rifles and pitchforks. (with a little help from NATO <g>)

<< BTW is it possible to "grow" smaller in English? >>

Sure. It is not a normal use of the word but perfectly acceptable. I apologize for this liberal use of the word.
