13 years old.... is that really old for a dog... I forgot. We have a 13 year old cat here and hes ok, but his friend is the one that died. Now hes scared because he doesn't know what happened to his friend. It sounds like the rescued dog was new in your house, what about the other dogs do they miss the 13 year old? Its a hard decision to put an animal to sleep but if you could have seen this other cat we had last year and the pain he was in putting him to sleep was a definite option - he had a heart problem but we didn't know it, we thought he had just eaten another mouse at first. He went downhill fast.
