"Long-bond remains under pressure amid rumors the Fed was poised to call an emergency meeting to make a pre-emptive tightening, and on growing concern that hedge fund, Tiger Management, will face significant redemptions by the end of June"

If this isn't a Friday in summer, I don't know what is. Nothing like a 1% rise in retail sales to trigger an emergency Fed meeting <g>.

The credit markets have better liars than equities.

Hi Steve,

They play this game all the time!

You would think that Mr. Market would get it eventually. But sadly in the short run he is more motivated by emotion than by logic/analysis. Thus, the white shoe crowd has a recurring opportunity to fleece the less stalwart of their competitors. A cynical, cyclical cabal of cavalier curmudgeons. Our best and brightest.
