GOODBY TO ALL!

A year ago I posted on this thread for several weeks, then tired of the acrimony and withdrew. That was a good decision. At that time, at least, I was able to present strong scientific arguments against the myth of evolution, and apparently influenced some to perceive that Darwinism is not really supportable in reality.

Since I love scriptural dialog I've been back to check the thread from time to time, and finally forsook restraint and entered in once more. I realize my beliefs are vastly different from most of those held here:

Jehovah is the God of the Bible, He is not 1/3 of a trinity
The soul dies, death is sleep, the wicked sleep forever
No one is tortured when they die, Hell is the grave
God's Kingdom will transform Earth into a paradise
Christ's sacrifice shall redeem most of mankind
New Earth is the only hope in the first 75% of Scripture, the OT.
Christians are no part of this world, Satan now runs it [2 Cor 4:4]
As a Christian I must be at peace with all men, study war no more.
Christendom is married to the world, and her skirts are covered with blood.
No Christian preacher should be paid. I'm not!

To present these matters I've relied on Scripture and standard reference works, no private sources. Now I'm challenged with side issues which I can well defend or admit to as the case may be, but the bitter well from which they are drawn knows no bottom. I'm absolutely amazed that anyone would attack Jehovah's people for their actions during WW2 in Germany. I'll let an English historian respond to that on my next and final post.

I must declare my appreciation for the kindness of many on this thread
who speak with reason, without rancor. My sincere prayers are that all of Jehovah's blessings may come unto you and your loved ones!

It is a common misconception that Hebrew writers were ignorant of vowels. Vowels were commonly omitted from everything early writers wrote, because the were too poor to include unnecessary letters. The money there were able to save by omitting explicit vowels could be used for food or even more papyrus. So JHVH is a well-spelled word at all. All Hebrew words have vowels, neatly tucked between the consonants. Today scribes can afford vowels, or at least vowel points. JHVH is actually pronounced (although pious Jews don't pronounce it ever) Yahveh, or Jehovah. Hard to tell whether the first vowel is an "a" or "schwa."
