From CBS market watch (wrap-up):
Shares of Applied Materials (AMAT: news, msgs) slipped 3/16, or 3.2 percent, to 65 13/16.

Damnation, the new math is really confusing me these days. It's the old change the points down from earlier in the day, but forget to change the % number trick, eh?

When the Japanese economy collapsed AMAT took a big drop, from which it has slowly come back.

Now that the Japanese economy is on the rise again, you can expect a big rise for AMAT.
