Thanks for the advice, Steve. Tried it but need to do more. I've got some instructions here but didn't follow them. You've got to appreciate I'm not much with electronics. There is a VCR in my office that's been winking at me for over 6 months. Only way I know how to fix it is with a hammer and chisel. I get so damned fedup fiddling with these things I just want to go out and lift something heavy. Anyway, I'll keep fiddling tonight and hopefully get it right. Regards, Bob
