Well Here We Go Again ---
How about just agreeing that results of the
"Non Trial", and the final agreement,
are (and will continue to be) a WIN WIN SITUATION .

In my opinion, Ericy's law suit was just a means of applying
enough heat to a festering boil, to cause it to all "come to a
head".

The bloody thing has "gone bust", and we're Movin' On.

As far as IPRs go --- I doubt that the Q management is foolhardy
enough to overcharge Ericy for them.

After all they (we) are counting on Ericy's cooperation to implement
CDMA systems --- AND THE SOONER THE BETTER .

Can't think of anything more useless than a new super (duper)
CDMA phone or device without a viable CDMA infrastructure.

Kind of like having two shiny new tin cans, and no string.

Best,
Mardy.

Raymond - But still I think it's rather impressive
how many functions they
[W-CDMA] have got in a trial system. Don't you agree. By the way. How is cdma2000 doing? Has anyone seen any real calls yet?

Well, I certainly agree that W-CDMA, with all of their announced trials etc., appears to be ahead of CDMA-2000 in the 3g race. However, I think that this is largely yet another example of Qualcomm's vs Ericsson/Nokia etc PR machinery. It should be kept in mind that CDMA-2000, as an evolution from CDMAOne, will not need trials to anywhere near the same extent as W-CDMA. FWIW.

Now they [Lucent] will get real competition.QCOM have good engineers but they din't have enough resources to compete on the infrastructure side.

I agree completely.
