It is easier to extract hydrogen from Methanol than gasoline. Also existing filling stations could be easily adapted to methanol. Where is the pure hydrogen infra structure and who will build it?

Ballard cant make up its mind if they want to use pure hydrogen from a tank onboard or use methanol with an external reformer. In any event they are using hydrogen from and external source in a PEM and are not switching to a SOFC. Incidentally they do not have their reforming process perfected and their system remains extremely costly and heavy.
