As far as I know, torti or tortishell aplies to any black and orange or grey and cream cat. Add white and it's called a calico. Did you know that nearly all tortis and calicos are female? The rare male is usually sterile because only an abnormal extra chromosome can produce that combination.

I haven't heard the term reverse tortishell, but I'm not a breeder or involved in show cats, they may have such a term. All of my cats are animal shelter refugees.
