Hi, I'm virtually ignorant, but since it's quiet tonite, I'll respond anyway ---

Tern uses S CDMA technology to overcome noise, external interference,
in the noisiest, nastiest frequency range(s) that exist on
crummy old cable.

Seems like they blast away, with a shotgun blast of ones and zeros
across the total frequency range (bandwidth) of this crummy ole cable.

This produces an exceptional frequency range under conditions
which cause ordinary cable modems to fail.

How's that for a totally non-technical guess ??

Also, don't know about DSL over Cable, but you may be
interested in two new DSL offerings (Paradyne and Globespan)
(both are cousins of Lucent)
If so, just check out the Globespan thread.

Best,

Mardy.
