There was a period during the twenties-thirties that changed a lot. Or so I think. Might need to read more. But the norm had been "the exceptional woman", the one in the masses that broke apart, that on occasion was even respected. But there was the beginning of a swell with enough women doing their thing and succeeding at it that it started to break walls and other women, larger numbers of them, began to realize that they could, that they wanted, to go through them. Jeez, I'm only on my second beer. How did talk of dinner parties and torrid affairs lead to this?

Oh, rats, I can't stand it.

Virginia Woolf is the one who committed suicide. She filled up her pockets with stones and went for a long walk off a short pier. I believe it was a river, though, not the ocean.

Yes, she had Leonard, but Leonard was gay, and so was she. They had what we call an understanding. And no one really knows whether they ever engaged in intercourse with each other.

It's certain that strong women eat
A crazy salad with their meat.

Good night.
