I respect my mother a great deal. She had a single mother who ran a private grade school out of her home in Dallas during the depression. She always made it. She was the one that was always "Grandmother". No pet names for her. Mom graduated from high school at 16 and college at 19. Sharp lady. And sardonic and ironic. We lived in a very ritzy town when I was in high school and we had a 68' Fiat Spider 850 that was all beat up. Itty bitty car that barely weighed anything. It had to be pop-started most the time. She'd drive it the store or to a "meeting" and park it amongst the fancy cars. Then to top it off, when she left she'd push it, getting some steam up, then jump in, pop the clutch and roar away. She laughed over that many a time and the looks on the faces of the other people.
