Not only Charlotte's Web's White, but the White of years at the New Yorker. If you haven't read his essays, you have a HUGE treat ahead of you. In the days when I taught HS English I used his essays (and those of George Orwell, not only the classic "Politics and the English Language," with which NO literate person should be unfamiliar, but his other essays, such as the superlative "Shooting and Elephant") as examples of some of the best English writing of this century. Please, if you aren't familiar with his other writings, do yourself a favor and hasten to your library to check them out.
