*OT* I think it is worth it. The prices are reasonable since I buy all my movies from buy.com for less than a store bought VHS tape would cost. The added features are nice when youwant to see the behind the scenes type stuff etc but are a bit of fluff unless you are really into something you are watching. The reason I converted is due to it's clarity and excellent sound ( I tend to favor art type film where there are excellent sound tracks or else musicals like Fiddler on the Roof etc). The other obvious advantage is you don't have to worry about the tape getting old or degradation. Probably not as big a deal for civilians but for us military types that move a lot, we lose a lot of VHS tapes due to thier leaving our house hold goods shipments sitting in the sun on a loading dock for weeks at a time or in a truck. This tends to ruin the tapes and when you do play a tape that is watchable, it gums the heads all up. DVDs last forever and are almost indestructable.

Hope this helps you decide,

Lee

Dennis,it's worth it.the clarity is unbelievable.
But, the DVD players that are in the market today
are not capable of recording. However, that is going
to change soon. DVD players that can record are going
to be out towards the end of this year.Hope this info
will be helpful.
