I didn't mean to dismiss the relationship as "mere alcoholic codependence." I haven't read anything about their relationship, other than her autobiographies, but I have read everything that both of them wrote, and they were both good writers. I've never had any luck having a relationship with a man who is in the same business as I am, men can't help but compete, and they can't help but resent people who exceed them, in my experience.

As for the beer goggles, well, you said the other day, what does a lesbian bring on the third date? A U-Haul.

My response: what does a homosexual bring on the third date? What third date?

<<And is it important that Hellman looked better through beer goggles? >>

As I found out one night in college there's nothing wrong with boinking an ugly babe. They are so, er, so grateful. All cats are black at night.
