That's true that a regular modem can keep up with a normal data load. But when you log on, switch pages, or switch symbols in a linked Market Maker window, you are putting a heavy load on your connection. If you never do any of these things, a regular modem is fine. I believe it's also true that a lot of things are blamed on the data provider that are actually caused by the isp, etc. That excuse at times gets over-used by the providers, though. w
