I believe that there is currently lots of political posturing going on up north. The new territories are cutting their teeth and wrestling with the Federal Government for control of their resources etc. There were some recent statements by the Cheifs that there would be no more new mines. That would in turn naturally prompt an announcement by Kennecott that there would not be much point in exploring for new resources.

I expect that there will be plenty more said and that life will be much the same when everyone has had there say and listened to what others have to say. And here we all thought that NWT was the least politically risky!

I expect that money and jobs will become more attractive as the new administration tries to figure out how to balance the books, keep everyone happy and get re-elected.
