Dear rruff and Greg -- At Brown, I have heard that they require 20% of the underlying security in the account and will allow put/call writing uncovered if you have a certain amount in the account, I believe it's $25k, but call them for details. I know a lot of experienced traders that love Brown, but you can find others that don't like Brown I'm sure. You have to say you've had at least 5 years experience on their application form and know about certain options situations. Even if you're a millionaire, they don't care, they won't give you an account at all if you have less than 5 years experience. Kim
