i would be careful here, expecially in the tech ipo's
historical prices may not be value indicators due to sector rotation and fear

most ipo's are heavily politically oriented until the companies have solid revenues (2 to 3 years) imho
coicidentally, by then, the VC's, founders and miscellaneous hangers on would have had a chance to cash out or take a bath, oh well

hopefully i will have some inputs that may be of some use in Kevin's ipo's research

ynot ;)

Banchee, Ask Kevin Shea about IPO's and when they turn. He has developed a reliable method for picking the day they turn and has posted many many such events. . . .and quite successfully, I might add. Your interest may reveal other interesting info about these as well. Certainly there is a play there on the turnaround, albeit near-term. As for the value of IPOs for the rest of the summer. . . .I am not thrilled about any at this time, and would be looking for many of them to drop well below their original IPO prices here very soon.

Status report: All is sunny and warm in Southern California. Spent the weekend with family, on the beach in San Clemente, Calif. Wife's oldest son had graduation party tonight. Tomorrow AM it is off for Palm Springs for two days. . .where it is well into the 110's. . . but you can't beat those moonlight swims. Visiting a close friend there [best man in my wedding last year]. . .he is now 77 and in a wheelchair. . . but still has one of the keenest minds around. . . just name the subject and watch him go for hours on end. . . one of the top 5 most brilliant geniuses I have ever known.

Still looking for that short-covering rally on speculatives. . .perhaps first thing Monday morning. . . but I would expect it to be rather short lived. . . done by noon for sure. I am watching market more carefully on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, while on vacation. . .

Otherwise, having a ball. . .

Best wishes to all.
