Well, lemmee tell ya, Doug.... you and Bill are making the claims and not providing any evidence for them.

Under the same rules I can say any outrageous thing I want and call it fact.

If Chinese and Taiwanese bank officials were together plotting banking strategy in Macau, it has no "official" status in Bejing's eyes. Show me the evidence that it did occur.

There is communication between the mainland and Taiwan, but it occurs in a very indirect manner, primarily through business interests and back channels.

As for the US being their enemy, the only thing keeping Asian solvent at this moment is the free-trade policies of the US. Were it not for our monetary policies and providing them the markets they require for their goods, the Asian Contagion would have killed the patients.

Yes, they resent the US telling them how to run their affairs (but don't mind telling Americans how great their system have been).

And there is no doubt that they don't like the situation they're in at the moment, but the last thing they should want to do is bite the hand that is feeding them.

Regards,

Ron
