If you perform the same exorcise on the new highs list, you will find that the Asian closed-end funds and ADRs need to be cast out, thou foul spirits.

Vitas, the new high/low "observation" is in the Trader section this week. As for the comment about removing Asian stocks/proxies, although I don't have the precise figures, I sincerely doubt that there are anywhere near as many of those in the indices as there are bond related issues and preferred stock issues. However, who really cares at the moment? The trend currently is down and until the bonds stop collapsing, I guess any news is bad news.
