I could have taken the same tack in my response to Croc, and it would coincidentally have involved the same religion. An aunt-in-law went through a period of a fanatic involvement with los Testigos de Jehová, and we had many long and intense conversations on that particular belief structure. Never did any of us cross a line into anger, because there was large respect involved - beyond even the mandated respect of la familia mexicana - she commands respect largely imho because she has large self-respect which permits her to respect others, while quite delicate in stature she has a hide like a rhinoceros and a quick sharp wit ... she was into some Holy Roller speaking-in-tongues thing last i heard ... doesn't matter, i don't mind sitting next to her at the table, she's fun. Like you say, respect matters.
