Tim, OT, LOL as if there could be anything on topic around here these days.

Fly fishing. Yes do it. You have one of the finest dry fly rivers, for large Rainbow and Brown trout, in the world, right in your backyard.

Or head south to the Crowsnest. You'll find me there off and on this summer.

Go to Country Pleasures. Ask for Jim McLennan, if he's not there (he's got a tv show so spends a lot of time fishing now), anyone will do, and they will be happy to put you on the right track.

Fly fishing is not just catching fish. It's an art, it's asthetics, it can be a way of life, and to be really good at it, you learn insects, and rivers, and lakes, and their ecosystems and inhabitants, vegetation, birds, weather, materials, lines, leaders, tippets, hooks, arrrghhhh, 6 more days, and I'm outta here.

Oh, and when you can afford it, you head for warm, salt water flats, and start all over again, learning new fish, new waters, new techniques.......
