rob, i also thought of the cost of backing off, but if you consider the *$50M or so it costs just to insure the launch, it will be easy to prove in court that the company is under economic duress. Judging by the stock and bonds, it sure the world thinks so.
But if you look at the action (on whether the company would file), the thing that really tells the story, things are moving as planned.
i think the fact that mot is quiet is what causes the distrust by the banks. They have until the end of this month on which they can't do much.
I think there's a 50-50 chance mot would put in a billion to take over the company and run it its own way. They also have to consider the lawsuits, which i believe have some merit.
Class actions can take at least 2 years to settle and by then the company should be in better shape. For now it needs a rescuer.

*please double-check in past bw/wsj for the more accurate figure. what i remember is $30/satellite on average but i may be wrong.
