Actually, I had brought up this problem before. Obviously, one cannot satisfactorily skirt the relationship between the Thing-in-Itself and the phenomena, precisely for the kinds of reasons you mention. It casts into doubt the adequacy of making time and space mere modes of intuition, and it also casts into doubt the "absoluteness" of the unknowability of Things-in-Themselves. However, it is unlikely that there is a perfect correspondence between objects and perceptions, because it is reasonable to suppose that a being with more comprehensive senses, a greater ability to see patterns, and the ability to entertain multiple viewpoints would know things more adequately, and that God, supposing He existed, would know things without obscurity, mistake, or relativity of viewpoint. Instead, it seems likeliest that we interpret the world more or less adequately, and that although we can achieve a high level of confidence about our knowledge, there is an irreducible element of uncertainty, both because of the possibility of revision, and because reality is "richer" than we can deal with....
