The toilet flush <ggg> What an apt analogy. I wonder if this works on buying panics too. NSOL on Friday morning for instance. Nice short at 72 if you had the guts.

does the term "flipping" simply mean closing a long and starting short position on the same stock when it is coming off an up spike?
And how can you burrow shares fast enough to do this,or are these flippers shorting naked?
And if you box your long on a spike shouldn't your broker immediately do this and NOT have to check for shares to burrow as you are shorting your own shares--had this problem recently,as the broker was checking to see if there were shares to burrow, but I insisted, why? I am shorting against the box, these are my own shares and have cash in my account. Thanks to anyone who can help on these questions.Max90
