Sherry: I write my own software including that for P&F chart displays.

I'm currently using it with the E-mini... works real nice.

They key is the box size and the reversal value...
Different for each item.

I don't know if there are any real-time P&F chart programs out there or not.

I use DTN RealTime for my source & capture data via DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) & feed it to my databases which are then used for analysis.

I was curious if any of the experts here used P&F charts...
I'm surprised it isn't used very much.

Weekends ARE really great alright... BUT they're TOO SHORT!
The E-mini starts-up Sunday afternoon here in So. Calif.

I'm leaning more toward stocks now... E-mini is really WILD!
...even more so than a volatile stock!

Thank you for your comments.

Have a nice one, what's left of it!

Joe

Hello Sherry

yes i use it everyday but not real time...i know of no site with real time P&F...however...P&F does have marvelous set ups within the confines of each chart that can and do tell me when to buy or when to sell...

these supports and resistance lines are the Bullish Support lines(BSL) & the Bearish Reistance lines(BRL) on every chart...it's absolutely amazing how often stocks bounce off these lines...of course when they break thru either way it usually protends for a quick violent move...

more important... on the Dorsey site..at the lower right hand side of the main page, take a look at "Trading Patterns"...spectacular potential trades "lurk" there<g>...

i use the triple tops/bottoms, the bullish/bearish triangles, etc, and what i do is correlate them with real time candle charting using QCcharts awesome real time goodies...i set alerts on stocks i follow at critical junctures and when it dings me!!! i check to see if things are all clear<g> and then dive in hard...using S&P's and market direction to help with the trade..

i have to admit...daytrading is coming slowly for me...i was more an option trader, more a position type trader...no more...this is an art form that's fast and loose..hit and run stuff that keeps the blood flowing in these old bones..man this is action at it's best...

i would like to suggest that everyone here head on over to this site www.dorseywright.com, get the free trial...and see how amazing this KISS method of TA can be...

for all you daytraders on this thread..P&F has charts on every index, commodity, stock, bond etc..it also has a group of special indicators called "BULLSH PERCENTS"...these indicators will help in directional changes in markets, indexes, stocks, & sectors of the stocks your trading each day...and once you get a feel for where these sectors are??? then you can even trade more confidently those stocks that live in that sector...very very important...also it give's RS(relative Strength) on all stocks etc...serious stuff for the knowledgable trader/investor...to have in their arsenal....

hope this helps...i've seen you on the P&F Thread headed up by Tom Dorsey himself..along with Janie & Tammy...super duper people...

i had the privilege of meeting Tom in person, and i can say he's friendly, smart, and has helped me change my trading life for the better...read his book!!! a must...

my best regards, OJ....

Hi Sherry:

I'll plot intra-day p&f movements and use only the previous two or
three days max. for day trading. I then use those intra-day moves to plot the whole point moves with a 3 point reversal for the short
and intermediate term out look.

I use the whole point moves to determine short term to intermediate
direction and base my decisions on it for position trading. For day trading I use the whole point moves for ST and IT direction only but base all trading decisions from the intra-day chart.

I'm told Dial data has intra-day data. I'm going to check it out.

Thanks,

Dominick
