I believe in what i see demonstrated, and while realising well that my vision and understanding is severely limited, i figure that belief [or worse, faith] in anything specific beyond that is absurd. So you do not believe that the Civil War was ever fought? You certainly cannot see it demonstrated; all you can do is read about the experiences of people who claim to have experienced it. The only proof that Julius Caesar existed is that there are black marks on paper that we read to claim that he existed. Impossible to demonstrate, impossible to prove. You will believe Julius Caesar existed because people you have never met and cannot question say so. But you will not believe God exists even though people you can talk to and question say so. Hmmm.
