Dear Jan: Thanks. Perhaps, living in South Korea, you can understand my excitement. It's almost as if I died and have gone to Heaven. On September 11, 1998, I was one of several thousand people that had the opportunity to attend one of a handful of performances of Puccini's landmark opera "Turandot," conducted by Zubin Mehta, in the Forbidden City of Beijing. Well, I was flipping channels and caught the "same" show on PBS (www.pbs.org) about an hour ago. It was beautiful. Needless to say, I forked over $175 to get the videotape. Ahhhh. The simple pleasures of life.
