I wonder if it really even helps them business-wise. I think people are going to use Netscape if they like it better either way. People get used to an app and they stay with it -- the old shoe effect. I like ie A LOT but they are creating a lot of resentment in this here consumer.

I guess I should have tried a simple re-install to see if that fixed my problem but I was kind of freaked out by not being able to un-install. Now I've got DriveImage by PowerQuest, and once I get confidence in that program anything $Bill does to Windows won't matter -- I've got a silver bullet.

It was strange. When I first installed ie5, there was an option to return Windows to the "previous configuration". I don't think I ever tried that. But then when ie screwed up, I looked and that option to return to the previous configuration was gone. And there was no entry for Internet Explorer in the Install/Uninstall list. Very touchy...
