Ahhh... perhaps there is an advantage to MRVC's engineering orientation!

I like building stuff, so I'm sympathetic to MRVC's engineering oriented way of doing business. It is not looked on favorably by many business-oriented folks. Inventory and engineering expenses look much higher than if you subcontract major components.

We had this discussion over on the fool thread. Mr. Hyde is a big proponent of using engineering subcontractors such as Jabil to build products. From a business perspective, I think he might be right. MRVC is too intent on doing it all in-house.

Yet when stuff like "no one can get the ASICs to work except Juniper and Netcore", it makes me hope that MRVC has something sweet cooking.

Maybe MRVC can't get their stuff working either- but if you roll your own, you at least have a fighting chance.
