Barb, Conversely, the govt. must have wanted a Depression in the 1930s and Herbert Hoover must have conspired to bring about the type of economy that would make him unelectable. And I'm sure Tricky Dick wanted a market crash with Watergate being investigated. <g> It is amazing what some folks believe. The govt. may want to keep the bull market going, but there is a finite limit to their powers.
