kitco shows markets are open in Sydney. I don't see any response to the imf news yet. This will be interesting. Kaplan reporting all time lopsided spec/long/OI on comex and gold could down more? I am looking for one heck of a bounce come July. -g-

Venezuelan oil strike to go ahead Monday - unions

6/13/99 - RESERVE BANK OF INDIA TO ISSUE GUIDELINES ON GOLD HEDGING

MUMBAI, Jun 14, 1999 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will shortly come out with detailed guidelines on the much awaited hedging of gold.

"RBI is currently examining the hedging of gold from various angles and a comprehensive set of guidelines will be issued in about two to three months" time", RBI executive director Khizer Ahmed said

"Once the gold deposit scheme takes off, gold hedging will also follow suit", he said.

The RBI among others was considering issues such as standardisation, quality, assaying and the players to be allowed to hedge in gold.
