you made a statement that CBs purchased gold because of fear of inflation. You made this up. CBs have owned gold for a long long time. So it is pure fiction on your part.

Some fiction. Please note the spike in gold buying by Central Banks between 1978-1980. This was the period of extraordinary inflation in the US and other western economies. Please note that that buying remained steady and strong throughout 1988.
